Lara croft is presented in very sexualised clothing which matches the common stereotype of women being sexualised in the media 

3) How does the character of Lara Croft subvert female stereotypes in the media?
Lara croft also subverts common female stereotypes because she is the hero of her respective franchise and she is shown to be a brave and heroic character. These qualities are generally considered to be male attributes.    

4) Why do some people believe the videogames industry is sexist and needs to change?
people take this view because of how women are commonly presented in videogames. Generally women are shown to be more timid in comparison to their male counter parts. Additionally they are typically the main character or the hero of the games they feature in. Finally women are very obviously sexualised in the videogame industry. 

5) Do you think Lara Croft is an empowering feminist icon or just another objectified woman designed to appeal to male gamers?
I would like to say that Lara croft id both an empowering female figure as well as a objectified women. However, with the passage of time today we can see that in the more recent Tomb Raider games Lara croft isn't as sexualised as in comparison to the 1996 version of her.
