Blog tasks: The Times - Language and Representations

 1) What is the main story on the front cover of the Times CSP edition and why does it appeal to Times readers?

The main story was Garry Lineker vs BBC bosses.

2) How is the presentation of this story different to how the Daily Mirror presents it? 

in the daily mirror it is clear that they support Garry Lineker whilst in The Times it's evident that they don't support Lineker.

3) How is the Times front page designed to reflect broadsheet newspaper conventions?

There is a higher level of vocabulary compared to the Daily Mirror. On the front page they had also discussed international matters. there is also a higher writing to image ratio.

4) Why are print newspapers generally read by older audiences? 

it may be because of their habits, they're used to reading the newspaper.

5) What does a close analysis of the news stories in the Times CSP edition suggest about the Times's political beliefs?

first we can see that the kicker and pug are placed on a blue background. Blue is commonly associated with the conservative party.
