Magazines and Music Video assessment learner response: blog tasks
1) Type up your WWW/EBI feedback in full (you don't need to write the mark and grade if you want to keep this confidential).
Total = 20 = grade 7
WWW- this is a seriously impressive assessment- well done! Top level across the board and up to 80% so it's just a case of adding a little to open up 8/9
EBI- the top grades are all about the depth, detail and sophistication you can offer. Consider different possible meanings and the wider/ cultural or political contexts.
2) Read the mark scheme for this assessment carefully. Write down the mark you achieved for each question:Q1: 2/2
Q2: 6/8
Q3:4/6
Q5: 5/6
3) Look specifically at question 2. Use the indicative content in the mark scheme for question 2 to write three connotations of the design and layout of Tatler.
serif font has connotations of being factual, old and reliable this reflects how Tatler is Britons oldest magazine
san-serif font is used to look more up to date sleek. Furthermore, on the sides the writing is orderly. this can show the the magazine is high quality and filled with amazing content.
4) Now look at question 3 - Heat magazine. Use the indicative content in the mark scheme to write three ways celebrities are represented in Heat magazine.
celebrities are represented as more normal. for example they have paparazzi photography : there is a celebrity in casual dress which makes them look more like the average person. with Meghan and Harry, they used a low angle and with them looking away, casting shadows on their faces which challenges the stereotype of celebrities being perfect.
At the beginning of the video they say "don't believe the hype" referencing how their fans made them famous by sharing and talking about their music on the internet.
the band is dressed in casual dress: jeans and t-shirt. this gives them a nostalgic feeling of the 90s/80s
