to treat blood diseases. specifically black and Asian blood is needed for the best results

the advert clearly wants Black and Asian donors. they've implied this through the statistic at the end." 3% of donors are back and Asian"

the advert is called represent because they want Black and Asian people to donate which are minority's

Kanya king, Nicola Adams, chuka umunna
6) What are the connotations of the slow-paced long shot of empty chairs at the end of the advert?
The connotations of the empty chairs at the end are that they need to be filled with black and Asian people and the connotations of the slow paced song is sadness and more negative emotions
8) How does the advert subvert stereotypes? Give three examples (e.g. ethnicity, masculinity, femininity, age, class, disability/ability etc.)
The advert subverts stereotypes by including people who are minorities and successful with this they are subverting ethnic stereotypes on top of this they include an Olympic wheelchair athlete which people don’t expect
9) How does the advert reinforce certain stereotypes of the BAME community? Could there be an oppositional reading where some audiences would find this advert offensive or reinforcing negative stereotypes?
Some audiences could think that the advert associates rape music with black people which is already a popular stereotype on top of this some people can get annoyed because not all people have the same music taste.
10) Choose one key moment from the advert and write an analysis of the connotations of camera shots
at the end of the advert they have a shot of 3 chairs and text on the screen which has the number 3 highlighted. the connotations of the empty chairs would be that they need to be filled. the highlighted 3 adds a sort of pattern and added interest reinforcing the previous point of the empty chairs.(the text was "only 3% of blood donors are black and Asian") the subtly encourages the reader to donate blood.
